Baby Homemade Pasta

I found this idea on NickJr.com - having your baby make pasta dough for dinner - and it looks like something that would be totally fun - totally messy, but fun enough for the clean up. I'm definitely going to try it with the kids once we get moved and settled. I'll definitely do a blog post for this one.

Just Too Cute

Steve put his neck warmer on Kathrynn's head when he got home from work and I thought she looked so cute with it on, so I had to take a picture and post it. :)

Look What Kathrynn Did This Morning

So, I was getting Joseph's breakfast ready this morning when we heard Kathrynn making her usual waking squeals. Joseph LOVES to run in her room as soon as she's awake to greet her, and this morning wasn't any different until I heard, "Kaffrynn!!" (that's how he says her name.. it's way cute.) "Mommy, Kaffrynn's standing up!!" He was SOOO excited! So, I ran in there to see what he was talking about and sure enough, there she was fully standing up for the first time! Watch out world, she'll be walking before we know it.. then we'll be in for it! :)

OK, I seriously need some mommy help

I'm at my wits end. I've been trying to potty train Joseph for WEEKS. I will never understand how some moms can get it done in a weekend. I've been doing the take him to potty after certain intervals of time thing, but have come to realize that all that has done is potty train ME to take him.. he has regular accidents and never initiates going. I started potty training him because he actually told me one fateful evening "I need to go poopy." I haven't heard that sentence or anything of the like since.
I've been using Pull-ups (which I've been told is a no-no by some moms, but it was necessary when I was working) and decided today that maybe he wouldn't be so comfortable with accidents if he was wearing big boy pants (undies). Not so. He had 2 back to back accidents in 30 minutes. I'm just about ready to throw in the towel and put him back in diapers. So, PLEASE, if you have any advice that would help, please don't hesitate to share.
Everyone keeps telling me that boys are harder, but this is ridiculous.

Thanks in advance!

The Cookie Dough Monster

I bought chocolate chips on one of our recent visits to the grocery store and from that moment on - for days - Joseph begged to make cookies. I finally bribed him with them one night when he wouldn't eat his dinner - told him that if he ate his green beans that we'd make cookies - they were gone in about 5 seconds. :)
I think his favorite part of making the cookies was eating the dough. He's a true Paulson. :)

My Pretty Girl

Kathrynn's hair is finally long enough that I was able to get a clip in it. Yea! I get to accessorize my little girl now! :)
By the way, it look me like 15 minutes to get this clip in - she is SO WIGGLY! And, due to her tenacity, it was out in about 5 minutes.. we'll try again later.

Practicing for when she's famous..

Rang in the New Year with a BANG!

My blog's been a little quiet this last month and that's mostly because there's been so much going on with my family, providing me with very little time to sit down and post anything.. or little brain power. I DO plan on updating everything on here soon -- my camera maxed out today, so I need to get all of those pictures on my computer and up on the blog.
Christmas came and went and was great - I was given about 2 weeks off from work and I loved the time home with everyone... a little too much. I broke into tears the morning I had to go back to work and could barely tolerate the day without the kids.. one thing led to another (with several other factors that I just won't bring up on here), and I quit my job last week. Stay at home mom again and have never appreciated it nearly as much as I do now.
Given the lack of employment on my part, we've decided to move back to Logan next month. Still looking for a place up there, but have something narrowed down and are hoping it comes through. It will be temporary until our renters' in our San Antonio house lease is up and our house is sold.. and then we'll hopefully get a house up here.
The changes and experiences we've had leading up to this have been a huge whirlwind and Steve and I both are still kind of taken aback from it. But, I can honestly say, there have been few other times that I've ever seen the Lord's hand so firmly and deliberately direct the path of my life.
The kids love having me home again. Joseph's had an incredibly hard time being away from me during the day and is happier than we've seen him since we've moved from San Antonio.
Things are going well. Lots of things still up in the air. We'll keep you all updated as things transpire.

Hope you're having a wonderful new year and that those of you in Texas are enjoying the warmth!! We got over a foot of snow today and I'm getting rather sick of it. :) The novelty of it's even worn off for Joseph, and that's saying a lot.

Teaching Kathrynn to Self-Feed

Kathrynn is unlike any baby I've ever met - she doesn't put ANYTHING in her mouth. OK, she occassionally gives stuffed animals kisses, but that's the extend of it. Nothing goes in the mouth. I know what you're thinking - it's a total blessing. But, we do have one obstacle with this - teaching this girl to feed herself. She loves cereal and crackers, but the only way she'll take them is if I put them directly in her mouth for her. So, I've been working on teaching her that it's OK to put food in her mouth with biter biscuits, which are a family affair - I'm the only person who doesn't eat them in our household - Steve's gone through an entire box on his own! :) So, here's the documentation of Kathrynn's first biter biscuit. Enjoy!

Joseph got in on the action, too..

Granny and the Airbag - HILARIOUS

Steve sent this video to me today and I just couldn't stop laughing!! Just had to share. :)
